This is a really quick one. It's not about anything that I can go deep into. It's just a something that happened today that I wanna write down so I can remember it in the future because it made me laugh.
I was doing my makeup this morning and I was about to use my eyebrow pen because I have some weird bare patches on my eyebrows. Now my eyeliner pen and my eyebrow pen look exactly the same. I'm not even kidding! Look!
You can probably tell where this is going... I was tired and I decided to try be clever and to do my eyebrows without a mirror because I don't try too hard to make them look perfect.
So I took my 'eyebrow pen' and I started to colour them in. When I say colour, I mean like proper toddler crayon colouring. It wasn't long before I went really wrong and I felt myself draw nearly up into my hairline. So I used my hand to smudge it in because I thought it was eyebrow pen and it's easy to smudge. Now bear in mind that I still haven't looked in a mirror. When I finished smudging it in, I brought my hand down to see that it was covered in black. Now any normal person would've realised what they'd done by now but not me, I thought that maybe I'd smudged my eye makeup or something so I went to the bathroom to wash my hand and to look in the mirror.
And that's when I saw. I had two black eyebrows that were like a metre thick and they looked like slugs. And then I also had a long line on my forehead that was smudged in and it made me look like a badger. I'm not kidding. I wish I took a photo but it was seriously super funny. I'll take a photo if it happens again but in the meantime, I think I should make my eyeliner and eyebrow pen look slightly different so that I don't suffer from the monster eyebrows again.
Told you this was a pointless blog. Byee
I talk about everything and anything... Like the fact that the YMCA would be a lot harder to do in Chinese . . .

SHOW ME YOUR TEETH!
Yep, it's been a while. I have no excuses. I'm sorry. Can we get over it now?
So, if you didn't guess from the weird title, this blog is about teeth. Get ready to celebrate because recently, Tuesday precisely, I got my braces off! Now this is something that I have been waiting for for about 3 years now. Yes, you heard right. 3 bloody years. There is a good reason for this, I have some seriously messed up teeth. Lets start from the beginning shall we?
Now I dunno why but when I was younger, I was born without my outer incisors. For those who don't know which teeth these are (don't be ashamed, I had to look it up on Google), they are the teeth that are right next to your two front ones. Not only was I born without any of these teeth, but my adult canines had to be cut out because they were moving up towards my head instead of down towards my mouth. Talk about loose canons! So after all that hullaballoo, I was left with two big adult front teeth and then two tiny baby canines. Now as you can probably imagine, this makes me look slightly buck toothed.

So after all that hullaballoo, I was left with two big adult front teeth and then two tiny baby canines. Now as you can probably imagine, this makes me look slightly buck toothed.
Yep, I really took a close up of my face for you.
But that's not all. I also had two 'supernumary' teeth. Which means that I had two teeth that weren't even meant to be there. So I had to take them out too. All this has come up to 2 operations, and 4 teeth that were pulled out. mhmm. And then I got my braces on! JOY
I had to keep them on for nearly 3 years and when I first got them, I was NOT HAPPY. They were super painful and I thought that I looked horrible. They didn't put my baby canines on the brace because they thought that if they did, it might make them fall out and then I wouldn't have any teeth left in their place. So now I've got them off it's all over right??
WRONG! I've now got to wait until after Christmas to get my baby teeth 'built up'. This means that they're gonna make my baby canines look like the adult outer incisors that they're meant to be. Hopefully I will then look like I've got normal teeth and I won't look as buck toothed! Yay! Unfortunately, this also means that I have to wear my retainers on my top teeth until then also.
Now retainers aren't that bad because you can't see them and most people only have to wear them at night. But because I have baby teeth, which can easily move, I've got to wear mine 24/7. This absolutely SUCKS. They hurt to put in and to take out and I've got to take them out to brush my teeth in the morning, for breakfast, at break, at lunch, at dinner, and then in the evening to brush my teeth and then I've gotta put them after that too! This is so much pain to go through and so much effort. URGH...
Now after all this, the one question that's probably on your mind is 'is it worth it'? This is ALL anyone said to me whenever I complained about my braces. "Lucy, it'll be worth it" , "Lucy, think about how nice your teeth are going to be afterwards" etc... and now? I think it was worth it. I'm happy with my teeth and I'm more confident. I can't wait until everything's done and I can just enjoy having a nice smile. But I should try telling that to myself when I was angry about how long I had to have my braces on for. I wouldn't listen to anyone.
But the moral of the story is, if you have nice teeth, be so so so grateful. You honestly don't know how lucky you are. I hate you :P
